History…

George McKenna

George McKenna

Established in 1978 by George & Shirley McKenna, the original business name was McKenna’s Furniture. George McKenna had been running local on-site auctions for nearly 10 years prior to this point. It was in 1977 he had decided to open his very own permanent auction location. He purchased some land just east of Orangeville on Highway #9, and began building a fully functional Auction facility. Our first auction at this location was held in September of 1978. We ran successful auctions at this location on a weekly basis for nearly 30 years!

In 1991 George’s daughter and son-in-law Patricia and Craig Kimberley took over, and changed the business name to K.C. Auctions. In 2001 K.C. Auctions became a registered Incorporated company. We are now entering our 4th generation of loyal family employment.

Highway #9 Building

In 2007 K.C Auctions sold the property that was located on Highway #9, and we began running on site Auctions, and bi-monthly Misguided Freight Auctions at the Orangeville Fairgrounds. In October of 2008, we re-opened a new permanent Auction facility located in Orangeville’s Business district On Centennial Road.
